Aloha! I’m Dani, and this is my husband, Nick. We are the kooks behind the brand.
Kooks began as a lifelong dream and became a reality in our kitchen. Creating our own syrup flavors and coffee recipes together, it was a small moment that we looked forward to every day in the midst of our busy schedules. The more passionate we became about our morning cup of Joe, the more the concept grew. We wanted to create that little moment of awesome in every cup for you too. Eventually, with a lot of encouragement and fear of the unknown, I quit my corporate job to pursue this kooky dream.
Our Mission
Our mission is to fuel the adventures of surfers (new and old souled), beach-goers, and coffee lovers alike by offering a product that tastes like aloha and celebrates the surf culture that defines Hawai’i. We want to make a positive impact on the community and inspire people to live a life they dream of.
We pride ourselves on supporting other local businesses by sourcing and homemaking all of our syrups here on O’ahu. We want to serve you unique drinks made by awesome people, with the best ingredients. We believe that community and quality go a long way, and we are stoked to share that with you.
Why Kooks?
Many people refrain from surfing because they don’t want to look like a ‘kook’— and so, they never learn. Truth is, being a kook is a universal equalizer— everyone starts somewhere, it’s meant to be embraced.
We’re all about encouraging you to step outside of your comfort zone— that’s where growth happens. We want to inspire all the kooks out there to embrace the inevitable learning curve that it takes to become a pro. Enjoy the ride and stay kooky!
