Meet The Kooks
Aloha! I’m Dani, and this is my husband, Nick. We are the kooks behind the brand.
Kooks began as a lifelong dream and became a reality in our kitchen. In the middle of our hectic schedules, creating homemade syrups and experimenting with coffee recipes became the small moments we looked forward to most.
As our passion deepened, so did the vision. We wanted to create that little moment of awesome in every cup for you too. Eventually, with a lot of encouragement (and a healthy dose of fear), I quit my corporate job to pursue this kooky dream. We can’t wait to share it with you!
Our Mission
Our mission is to fuel the adventures of surfers (new and old souled), beach-goers, and coffee lovers alike by offering drinks that tastes like aloha and celebrate the surf culture that defines Hawai’i.
We’re here to make a positive impact— on the community, the ‘āina, and every person who stops by. From sourcing local ingredients to house-making all of our syrups here on O’ahu, we’re proud to support fellow small businesses and farmers.
We believe quality and community go a long way. So we serve up unique drinks, made by awesome people, using the best ingredients— with plenty of stoke in every cup.
Why Kooks?
Many people refrain from surfing because they don’t want to look like a ‘kook’— and so, they never learn. Truth is, being a kook is a universal equalizer— everyone starts somewhere, it’s meant to be embraced.
We’re all about encouraging you to step outside of your comfort zone— that’s where growth happens. We want to inspire all the kooks out there to embrace the inevitable learning curve that it takes to become a pro. Enjoy the ride and stay kooky!
